Getting Started with Your Chitika Ads

To get started, log into your account and go to the Get Code page.

After this, you will customize the look and feel of the ad. 

1. Choose the colors for how you want your ad to look. We recommend choosing colors that blend in or compliment your website for the best performance.

2. Choose the size and format of the ad unit.

3. If you wish to keep track of how your ad unit is performing you will need to create a channel by adding it to the "Channel" field. For more information on channels click here

4. Click "Get Code" and copy and paste it into your website.

How do I access my reports?


When you sign up for Chitika's services and are approved, you may login to  reporting system.

Please keep in mind that you will not be able to access the system until you are sent an approval email.


Payment Settings

1. In order to receive payments you will need to accurately fill out your payment settings.
2. Click on "Payment Settings" under the "Account" tab.
3. Now you will want to fill out your Payment Information and click on the "Save" button.
4. Next scroll down to Payment Method. Here you will select which payment method you wish to use. You can select to receive payments via PayPal or Checks.
5. For PayPal make sure to input the email address connected to your PayPal account.
6. Check payments will be sent to your address listed in your Payment Information.
7. For check payments you also have the option to hold your balance until a certain amount of earnings are generated.
8. Be sure to click on the "Save" button at the bottom of the screen.

Now that your Payment Settings are complete you will need to Fill out your tax form to finalize the process!

What do I need to do to get paid?

You will need to meet two criteria before you can receive payment as a Chitika publisher: you must fill out your tax form, and you must have reached the payment threshold for your given payment method in the previous month. We’ve expanded on these criteria below.

1. You MUST fill out your tax form

All Chitika publishers, no matter where they live, where their visitors are from, and where their servers are located, must fill out a tax form. If you are a United States citizen or resident alien, you must fill out the W-9 tax form. All other publishers must fill out the W-8BEN tax form.

Fill out your tax form by logging in to the PartnerCenter and clicking Account > Tax Forms.

2. You MUST reach the payment threshold for your given payment method in the previous month.

Chitika operates on a Net-30 schedule. This means that the revenue earned in one month will be paid out at the end of the following month.

For example, if you earn $10 in March, you will be issued that $10 payment at the end of April.

If you choose PayPal as your payment method, your payment threshold is set at $10.

If you choose Check as your payment method, we will send you a check when you reach the payment threshold of $50. You can change this payment threshold to be whatever you like, as long as it is $50 or more.
